This story was inspired by the children of a real island. Stag Island sits in the St. Clair River in southern Ontario. Sparkling, clear waters embrace this little jewel, which is a cottage paradise for kids of all ages.

Author, Laura Kiehner, spent her childhood summers on the island, where her days were packed with fun and adventure.

Illustrator, Fran Brown, fell in love with the beauty of the island, and her whimsical drawings reflect its charm and delight.
