Most of CD recorded April and December 1994 in Blackheath Concert Halls, London apart from Kullervo which was recorded November 1996 in Walthamstow Assembly Hall, London
Comes with 39 page liner notes including Libretto in 4 languages Original RCA Victor Red Seal CD release of selected symphonies and tone poems by Jean Sibelius, digitally recorded in 1994 and 1996 by The London Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, with featured vocalists Hillevi Martinpelto and Karl-Magnus Fredriksson, all under the baton of Sir Colin Davis. The packaging features a twenty-page booklet with track information, liner notes by David Wright (9), brief uncredited biographical notes for both the conductor and featured vocalists, and a detailed libretto for "Kullervo" by Elias Lonnrot (after oral tradition!), translated by Keith Bosley, on the interior pages; and color front and back covers, the former featuring a combination of artwork by Photonica and a photo of the conductor by Richard Houghton, and the latter featuring a partial listing of other, contemporaneous RCA Victor Red Seal CD releases by the conductor. (The booklet notes that the "English translation of 'Kullervo' reprinted from 'The Kalevala: An Epic Poem after Oral Tradition' by Elias Lonnrot translated by Keith Bosley [1989] by permission of Oxford University Press.")
