Produced in collaboration with the Indonesian Society for the Performing Arts (MSPI). All selections recorded in Indonesia, 1990-1997.
Recorded using a Sony TCD-D10 Pro DAT recorder (backed up with a Denon DTR-80P DAT recorder) and a Sonosax SX-PR mixer (six in, two out in 1990; thereafter customized to eight in, two out). Microphones; Sennheiser MKH-40s, Neumann KM-184s, and Neumann KM-130s. All performances were commissioned for these recordings.
Track 1 recorded indoors at night in Majene, Kab. Majene, Prop. Sulawesi Selatan, on 27/28 October 1996.
Track 2 and 7 recorded at night in Usman Achmad's home, on 8 August 1994.
Tracks 3 and 10 recorded at night in the studio of Palapa Record in Palembang, using MSPI equipment, on 3 August 1994.
Track 4 recorded at night on the veranda of private home in Ds. Mutunggeding, on 5 November 1997.
Tracks 5 and 6 recorded outdoors at night in Pangkajene, Kab. Sidenreng Rappang, on 16/17 October 1997.
Track 8 recorded in Paragon Studio in Muara Karang, Jakarta, using MSPI equipment on 20 September 1990.
Track 9 recorded at night in a private in Ds. Noepesu, on 29 October 1997.
Track 11 recorded at night on the porch of Ataratu's home, on 6 November 1997.
Track 12 recorded in the Studio Audio Visual Puskat, Sinduharjo, Yogyakarta, using MSPI equipment, on 6 July 1997.
