Recorded 1983-85 in Chicago, IL and San Francisco, CA (
Migration), and 1985-88 in San Francisco, CA and Oakland, CA (
The Wolf At The Ruins). The piano was recorded at Jack Schrage's studio in Moline, IL.
"Meditation", "A Quiet Place", "Evening Song" and "Arpeggiana" are previously unreleased and were recorded during the sessions for these albums.
"These two albums were the first ones I recorded at home in the mid to late 80s for my Ominous Thud label. Each came together over several years and marked my gradual embrace of non-Western sound within a texture of minimalism. These years were very formative for me. During that time, I began studying Chinese zither with Zhang Yan and found a Peruvian bandurria at a garage sale that I still use now." - Forrest Fang, May 2013
