notes

This album was recorded 23 June to late July 1980 at Townhouse Studios, London. Produced by Steve Lillywhite (except 14 produced by Andy Partridge).
The slightly unusual credits read that Colin Moulding 'sings his songs and plays his Epiphone Newport'. Dave Gregory is credited with 'the odd vox humana or two'. Andy Partridge is credited with playing 'His own voice, a guitar he thinks he owns, a synth he's not sure who owns and other noises that could have been anybody's'.

This recording remastered at Metropolis Mastering 2001.
℗ 1981. The copyright in this sound recording is owned by Virgin Records Limited under licence to Ape House Limited. © 2013 Ape House Ltd.
Made In The EU.

Remastered version of this 1980 LP with bonus tracks 12 to 14. Issued in a standard jewel case with eight page booklet.
All bonus tracks have appeared as B sides to the 'Generals And Majors' single at different times and in different countries. Track 14 is the only track not recorded during the 'Black Sea' sessions, first released as the b-side on the 1979 'Ten Feet Tall' US 7" single.
Ape House 22 October 2012 reissue with restored and corrected artwork.
