Mental health charity compilation. Release notes taken from the official compilation website:
"Sounds From The Asylum is a project that unites unrelated musicians and genres in order to help the helpers of people with mental health issues. Very often the same genetics that make people extraordinarily creative also causes unusual "wiring" within a person's brain. We all know the stories of the tortured souls who go on and create masterpieces. This compilation wants to show what is possible to achieve when people are unable to function in a normal daily life setting. Some of the artists have written their music as a therapeutic means to break out of a psychotic delusional mind set which was supported by their doctor and in fact recommended as a means to help, others wrote their music while spending time in a psychological ward. Most contributers experienced or still experience depression to various degrees, starting from feeling down to being barely able to stop themselves from committing the ultimate deed.
All profits will be donated to a mental health charity and divided to Mind and Hear us in equal parts. Both charities provide incredible help with ever shrinking funds in their endeavour to provide help for people who could be amazingly talented and insightful members of our society if only they could have more support.
Sounds From The Asylum makes no distinction between those who are directly affected or those who tirelessly support those who are personally affected by mental illness.
Sounds From The Asylum features many genres and it is supporting artists from all walks of life."
