In the face of the modern era of Hip Hop, it seems that lyrical skill has become an increasingly rare commodity. Thankfully, rappers like Mac The Rebel prove that this is still alive and well. “The American Villain” is a massive and expansive
testament to Mac The Rebel’s lyrical and technical skills as a rapper, and ultimately puts many contemporary rappers to
shame. Each track on this 17 track LP (1 Bonus included) is as hard as it is lyrically creative and refreshing, and ultimately proves that Mac The Rebel is force to be reckoned with in the underground. The opening track is a slow burn with an interlude, but has a sharp dive into some of the hardest bars we’ve heard this year right off the bat. Mac The Rebel’s flow is signature and unique to itself, and he shines on this track as well as the rest of the project. It features Sean Price (R.I.P.), Pacewon (of The Outsidaz) Legitmate (of Babylon Warchild), Rex Luger (of Frontline Muzik), VX: Heaven's Assassin (of Guerrilla Alliance), and more.This project though has familiar vintage sound, it steady comes with Mac's sharpest, hardest, lyrics yet.
