Notes from their site:
"Critically-acclaimed, and a masterpiece of guitar education. Written & recorded by Harvey Reid with singer/fiddler/ guitarist Joyce Andersen. An incredibly enjoyable and useful resource for anyone who wants to play some home-made music. The Song Train is a beautiful coffee-table, 80 page hardbook with 4 CD's, featuring 56 great songs that are all one and two-chord songs. It is a wonderful repertoire of easy but great songs, with great recordings of Harvey and Joyce playing them, as a model of how good musicians play easy songs. The folk, blues, gospel, rock, country, bluegrass and celtic songs are traditional and also by a who's who of great songwriters such as Bob Dylan, J.J. Cale, Hank Williams, Woody Guthrie, Merle Haggard, Chuck Berry, Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch and many more.
Arranged and performed for basic acoustic guitar; Reid & Andersen sang and played the songs "for real," with the same passion they put into any of their albums. They just did not do anything fancy on the guitar except drive the songs along. Reid did play some lead guitar behind Andersen's rhythm and she played some fiddle behind him, but there is no band and no overdubbing. The new "Liberty Song Train" shows how to play all 56 songs in this project with just simple 2-finger chords in the amazing Liberty Tuning. (*) The book is crammed with chords, charts, tips, history, amazing photos, and all sorts of useful and helpful information."
