To meet the demand for stereo when only mono masters existed, artists often completely re-recorded their hits in stereo, or labels used questionable techniques to poorly simulate stereo. If only they had known that spectral editing technology would one day make it possible to precisely isolate the voices and instruments in mono recordings and mix them into true stereo!
