Yet another stellar collection of pop classics expertly created with DES, distributed by Eric Records.
From the booklet:
"As an oldies enthusiast, you might wonder how this package came to be. How is it even possible for true stereo mixes of these iconic pop hits to exist if many of them were recorded before stereo recording technology was widely available? The answer is that new breakthroughs in the field of digital spectral editing have made it much easier to separate voices and drums and other elements in mono recordings.
As a result, our engineers can use this cutting-edge technology to essentially disassemble mono recordings and remix them into true stereo. Many hours and a lot of finesse is required, but when these elements are separated, they can be equalized individually in a way that wasn't previously possible. The result is an extraordinary balanced, clarified, and modern-sounding stereo presentation of a vintage recording."
24 of the 27 titles on this release are being made available for the first time in stereo using a process called DES (Digitally extracted stereo).
45 collectors will be happy to hear the stereo single debut of Dave Brubeck’s signature jazz hit “Take Five” and Edith Piaf’s famous French classic “Non Je Ne Regrette Rien.”
