This is the long-awaited first recording featuring Puerto Rican percussionist Manolo Badrena who is best known for his work with Weather Report, appearing on their album "Heavy Weather". With Trio Mundo, Manolo's incredible spirit is brought to the foreground, with his one-of-a-kind percussion, drumming, singing, guitar playing and composing. Co-leader/guitarist Dave Stryker has worked with Jack McDuff, Kevin Mahogany, Eliane Elias, and co-leads a group with Steve Slagle who, as special guest, adds flute, soprano sax and Indian bamboo flute. Bassist Andy McKee is a much-in-demand sideman who worked with Elvin Jones, Michel Petrucciani, Chet Baker and the Mingus Big Band.
