Charles Bradley: Soul of America charts the extraordinary late-in-life rise of 62-year-old aspiring soul singer Charles Bradley, whose debut album famously rocketed the James Brown impersonator from the Brooklyn projects to Rolling Stone magazine's top 50 albums of 2011. This award-winning documentary explores Charles' remarkable journey through abandonment, homelessness and tragedy to critically acclaimed recordings with the masters of modern soul, Daptone and Dunham Records. Following Charles through the exhilarating weeks leading up to his album release and world tour, this intimate film reveals the incredible heart and soul of the man who enamored and inspired countless adoring fans around the world.
