Love Of My Life
First release on CD with bonus material of the original vinyl mix version of the album "Cruising with Ruben & the Jets" with the original bass and drum parts (initially issued in December 1968). [When "Cruising with…" was re-released on CD, it was heavily remixed and new bass and drums had been overdubbed on most songs without any acknowledgment of this in the CD booklet, which still credited the original musicians. The new drums were played by Chad Wackerman; the new electric bass by Arthur Barrow and upright acoustic bass by an unknown musician, possibly Jay Anderson].
Tracks 1-13: Original 1968 vinyl stereo mix.
Track 14: Alternate mix - mono
Track 15: Long version
Track 16: Alternate mix. Recorded at Mayfair Studios, 24 July 1967 during the WOIIFTM Sessions - Evidence suggests this mix was likely done at the same time. Piano: Ian Underwood or Don Preston.
Track 17: Segments/Excerpts: FZ lecture with Q & A at The New School, NYC, 21 Feb. 1969 / Interview with Warren Duffy, Boston, 31 Jan 1969. Segment collaged by the Vaultmeister at UMRK, 2008.
Track 18: Mono mix. Mayfair Studios, 21 July 1967. This alternate version was recorded during the "Money" sessions, precedes BWS and frequently played at the Garrick.
Track 19: Released as B-side to "Deseri", December 1968 ©℗ 1968 ZFT.
Track 20: FZ delivers The Story Of Ruben & The Jets, xenochronous with Big Jay McNeely's "Benson's Groove" live on KPPC in Pasadena with Les Carter, 27 Nov. 1968. Beat booten by Joe Travers.
