My eternal thanks to these great friends and wonderful musicians who made this record possible. Greetings and gratitude also to beloved family and far-flung friends and much thanks to everyone listening.
The title comes from an unfinished, unreleased novel by Delmore Schwartz (1913-1966). His original title was "A History of the Boys and the Girls"; I took out the second "the" and kept the rest. I always liked the title and felt it deserved a home. I hope this set of songs covers enough history to deserve the title.
You can find the lyrics, all typed up and easy to read, at www.markdonato.com.
Looking forward,
M.D.
