The Open Road was commissioned by The Korzo Theater in 2008. It was recorded at The Orgelpark in Amsterdam (tracks 1-6, 9-13) and Barthkapel in The Hague (tracks 7, 8), Netherlands.

The text is adapted from Walt Whitman's "Song of The Open Road", a set of poems featured in the author's magnum opus "Leaves of Grass".
