Finnish metal band Loudguns are bringing back that 1980’s metal sound of bands like Judas Priest, Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, and Rainbow. I gotta say, these guys hit all of the marks when it comes to the sound and makes it feel completely authentic, and not a cheap attempt at a revival like some of the bands that are actually from that era keep attempting.
Their latest record, Sunset Runaway was released last week, and it’s pretty awesome. The first track “Line of Fire” kicks off a lot like Motley Crue’s “Too Young To Fall In Love”. The first single off the record “Loud ‘N’ Proud” could be off of Appetite for Destruction. My favorite track on the record may be “Wicked Lover” which gets a little bluesy with it’s ripping organ solo. Throughout the album, you can say “oh, this could be off a Priest record… this could be Tesla” these guys wear their influences on their sleeves and they nail the feel perfectly. If you want to go on a bit of a nostalgia trip, check these guys out.
