Originally released in 1978, ‘Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of The Worlds’ remains an award-winning landmark masterpiece that has continually won new fans. In 2012, Jeff embarked on a new interpretation with guest stars every bit as talented as their illustrious predecessors - Liam Neeson, Gary Barlow, Ricky Wilson, Maverick Sabre, Joss Stone, and Alex Clare.
In 1978, in order to achieve radio airplay, Jeff created an album of single length tracks with specially recorded intros and endings, whereas the original album was a 96 minute continuous recording, with no specific edit points. Now, the New Generation album has also been adapted into its own Highlights version, including the newly recorded bonus track - The Spirit of Man (Ragamuffin Mix) featuring Joss Stone and Maverick Sabre.
