In this volume readers will find the first stories that García Márquez published in Ojos de Perro Azul / Eyes of a Blue Dog, including the "Monólogo de Isabel viendo llover en Macondo" / "Monologue of Isabel Watching It Rain in Macondo", which is the first reference to the imaginary place that would become the most recognized literary space of our time after Cien años de soledad / One Hundred Years of Solitude was published. From then on, a series of stories followed that show García Márquez in total control of his narrative talent: "Los funerales de la Mamá Grande" / "Big Mama's Funeral", where the majestic funeral of the true sovereign of Macondo is told, and "La increíble y triste historia de la cándida Eréndira y su abuela desalmada" / "The Incredible and Sad Tale of Innocent Eréndira and Her Heartless Grandmother".
