5The Darbees of Roscoe, a story set in the Catskills, tells how Elsie and Harry Darbee played a dual role of critical importance to the sport of fly fishing and to the environment in which it is practiced. Their trout flies and flytying materials supplied thousands of anglers. Their home was the base for continuing battles to protect the Catskill rivers against dams, expressways, pesticides, and greed over the resources of a pristine wilderness region.
