9This method, that belongs to the Intermediate level, cover different topics in Arabic such as daily life routine, celebrations, food and drinks, academic life, housing and buildings and leisure and free time activities. Ash-shallal aims at providing the student with al those tools that enable him to produce and understand all the contents required in this intermediate level. The contents are distributed in five thematical blocks, which are divided into three units each. In the first unit of each block, students are exposed to a series of exercises to work on vocabulary and grammar. Afterwards, a series of texts will be used to work on the reading and written comprehension, to acquire new vocabulary and new grammar points followed by writing exercises. Then, students will work on the speaking and listening skills. On the contrary, the second unit is conceived as an extension to the contents of the previous unit, starting in the first place with exercises of speaking and listening and oral interaction and finishing with the writing skills. Finally, the third unit is a review and reinforcement of the two previous units highlighting the grammar contents that have previuosly appeared. Ash-shallal comes with audio online. All the audios of the Listening exercises in the book and all the reading tetxs. In addition, Ash-shallal includes the Answer key to exercises and the transcriptions of all the listening exercises. This method corresponds to an Intermediate level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference and covers approximately 150 contact hours of instruction, plus 120 working / self-study hours by students.
