on dedicated to the internationally acclaimed Brazilian architecture studio MK27, founded by Marcio Kogan.
Studio MK27, located in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, was founded in the late '70s by architect Marcio Kogan who is now partner of Diana Radomysler, Renata Furlanetto, Suzana Glogowski, and Mariana Simas. They lead a team comprised of 50 architects, most of whom have been together for over a decade.
While trying to keep it simple, Studio MK27 blurs the boundaries between the built and natural environments, building stories and shaping spaces through a meticulous process of design with great attention to textures and details.
The book features over 20 projects situated in different contexts all over the world, from the Brazilian countryside, passing through the urban context of Madrid, the snowy mountains of Whistler until an entire island built in Maldives. The book is organized into sections that will guide the reader from a macro to micro perspective of the Studio s work: Inside-out, Narrative, Light, Texture and Body--especially dedicated to the partnership with Minotti.
Kogan is an honorary member of the AIA (American Institute of Architects), Professor at Politecnico di Milano Polo Mantova, and on the board of Museum of Art of São Paulo (MASP) and the Brazilian Museum of Sculpture and Ecology (MUBE). Since 2001, the practice has won over 250 international awards, representing Brazil at the Venice Biennale of 2012, ranking 39th in
Dezeen s Hotlist 2017, and including
Wallpaper Design Awards.
