Adiya's understanding of "love" shatters right before her eyes when secrets about her relationship with Kaleb come to light. For years, she thought she had a 'good man' until a hidden enemy brought news about this 'good man' that wasn't so good. She feels like she can't handle it all alone, and Giovanni is there to let her know she doesn't have to.
Giovanni is dealing with several deaths in the family, and as the strong arm for everyone, he is left with nobody to be there for him. Those cards are usually dealt to a boss, and he understands that. He'd been diabolical and consistent with handling threats to himself and his family, but what's a man to do when the threat is family?
In the middle of tragedy, Giovani and Adiya still find the will inside of them to love each other deeply. Though circumstances and envious people want to pull them apart, Giovanni is there to show Adiya that just because he's younger than her, it doesn't mean he can't handle business and protect her like a man.
