Elvis Costello and The Attractions were recorded by Roger Bechirian at Eden Studios, London, UK between 8th and 12th November, 1977 and recorded and mixed by Roger Bechirian and Nick Lowe between 5th and 19th January, 1978.
"The Beat" recorded on the 3rd of August, 1977 at Pathway Studios.
This Year's Model was first issued as Radar #RAD 3 (UK), March 1978 and as Columbia JC 35331 (US), April 1978.
"(I Don't Want To Go To) Chelsea" and "Night Rally" were included only on the UK version of the album.
"Radio Radio" was only included on the US version of the album.
"Big Tears" was originally released as the U.K. b-side of "Pump It Up".
