Inspired by two-time Oscar-winning documentarian Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Andy Schocken's film of the same name, Song of Lahore is an album centered on the Sachal Ensemble: musicians forced to play in secret under strict Shariah law of their home country, Pakistan. Song of Lahore is not a soundtrack in the traditional sense, but rather a companion album to the film.
