Here's what the band had to say:
"As most of you know, we trace our roots back to Charming, CA; what we would later call The Forest Rangers began while recording covers and original songs for FX’s ‘Sons of Anarchy’. Unknowingly, it was the start of something special.
Over the last six years of making music for the show, we have created a distinctive sound--we have taken shape. We were having so much fun jamming together, and we we loved our developing sound. So we figured, why not make a record?
What really excites us as a band is that we have the chance to stretch out a bit, go beyond what we’ve been doing and see how it flies. Yeah, it’ll sound like Sons, but it will have some new dimensions as well. Plus, we’re writing all the songs this time! And in addition to the regular Rangers, we’ll be joined by some very fine singers, some who have been with us before (Alison Mosshart, Joshua James, The White Buffalo, Billy Valentine, Audra Mae) and others for the first time (Amos Lee, Justin Warfield)."
