Supercluster is an Athens super-group featuring members of Pylon, The Olivia Tremor Control, New Sound of Numbers, Casper & the Cookies, Squalls, Deerhunter, North Georgia Bluegrass and more!. It has been described as "Appalachian Wave" because of the combination of an eclectic mix of elements - three female vocalists, upbeat rhythms, violin, cello, mandolin, clarinets, acoustic guitar, keyboard, and angular electric guitar. Supercluster brings together several generations of Athens musicians who all have their own unique influences. This CD has some of the last known recordings by Randy Bewley who died while this CD was being recorded. Bradford Cox from Deerhunter and Jason NeSmith stepped in to help finish the record.
