The Deftones, like many highly influential modern rock bands, should not be blamed or dismissed for the hundreds of mediocre, copycat clones who followed in their wake. Formed in 1989, the Deftones pioneered the brutally aggressive micture of hardcore thrash, anthemic metal and hip-hop that would become a blueprint for the alternative rock scene of the late 90s.

Peerless in its execution, the body of work built by Chino & Co. contains far more nuances and intricate song structures than most bands dream of while transcending classification, soaring into new musical territory and daring others to follow.

Gathered on this tribute album are a group of insanely talented young punks and metal heads, going under the moniker MaxDesecration, who have taken up that dare and reconstructed some of the Deftones best moments with a nihilistic adoration that both honors and transforms these great songs.
