The electric guitar, clean or over-driven, provides a fresh palette of tone to his familiar melodic approach. Violins ripe with organic tube distortion contribute to the provocative, textured sound, which includes the richly detailed acoustic guitar pieces and his trademark layered violins. Guest instrumentalists Daniel Haley adds inspired acoustic leads & virtuoso mandolin chops; bass guitar and djembe rounding out the ensemble.
Think of it as the instrumental versions of songs from The Byrds, John Cale’s work with The Velvet Underground or the sensibilities of The Low Anthem and William Ackerman.
