NOTES

This undated reissue was glass mastered at Sony DADC and has different barcode on back cover than earlier versions (e.g. Safe As Milk or Safe As Milk). Back cover cover does not have "Made in Mexico" printed on it, unlike later reissue (Safe As Milk).

Based on DIDX-251216 present in matrix this release was issued around 2009.

Contains previously released material

Tracks 1 to 12 recorded April 1967 and released as "Safe As Milk" (Buddah 1001) in 1967. Cover art from this employed in the design.
Tracks 13 to 18 recorded Oct-Nov 1967 and appeared on "I May Be Hungry But I Sure Ain't Weird" in 1992 (Not in this remastered form).
Track 19 recorded at the same sessions as tracks 13 to 18, and appeared on the "Grow Fins" box set of 1999.
Mastered at SAJE Sound - New York, NY.

(The release credit shows a Beefheart instrument as a "Shinei". It is actually an Indian "Shehnai, similar to the antique English "Oboe Musette". The Shehnai was given to Vliet by Ornette Colman)

CD comes packaged in a standard plastic jewel case with clear tray, and includes a 12-page booklet with notes in English. Reissue from sometime during the 2010's, uses scanned artwork & design from the 1999 reissue. Most noticeably seen on the baby's head on the front of the disc, and the quality of the photo used for the back cover. The moiré effect is evident.

States “Made In Mexico” on the back cover.
