Suzume and Souta set off in search of Daijin, the god in feline form who refuses to return to his post keeping the earthquake-inducing supernatural Worm at bay. They chase after Daijin from Kyushu to Kobe, desperate to catch him before another disaster strikes Japan and hoping he'll undo the curse that's trapped Souta in a three-legged chair. Along the way, they notice something strange--everywhere the capricious god goes, a door through which the Worm slithers into this world seems sure to open...
