Yo pals. 2020 threw us all some curve balls. Two weeks into quarantine, Will Donnelly and I "went live" in my spare bedroom in South Philly as a duo to cheer up our fans. There was no script, no plan, just a couple schmucks makin shit up to try and lift people's spirits for an hour by whatever means necessary. By the end of the year, these little livestream performances had turned into a twice-weekly improvised variety show called Tough Cookies, watched live by people around the world. The viewers reactions in the feed became an interactive feature of the show and many wild, hysterical, emotional, and shockingly spiritual moments occurred for all of us on both sides of the screen. Because of quarantine, Will and I had to work as a duo (and during a period of 7 weeks during which I had Covid, I worked solo) to try to make the performances come across. Adriana Sabatini, aka "Camera Girl", filmed every show and sang along from behind the camera. Starting a couple months into the project, George Murphy sat in the room trying to make it all go smoothly on the live broadcast. We ended up covering over 500 songs by just as many artists. Here's a collection of some of hte best of those performances from the series. Most of these were recorded live with just a cell phone. Technical sophistication was never the point. Thank you and big hugs to all the tough cookies out there. Love, Adam
A very special thank you to Reid Martin and Joe Sivick
