The first two tracks are 1985's lone singles by The Shallows, Montgomery's second band. They were recorded at Tandem Studios, Christchurch, NZ in 1985.
Tracks 3 to 8 were recorded during July 1994 at Lowdown Studios, San Francisco, CA.
Tracks 9 to 20 recorded at 324 East 13th Street, New York City between December 1994 and February 1995, on a Tascam Porta One 4-track cassette recorder.
