Of Night And Light is the debut album by post-hardcore/alternative rock band Of Night And Light, independently released on September 1, 2017. The 8-track album moves swiftly between ambient instrumentals and soft vocals to heavy but articulate riffs and screams, creating a rich dynamic that crosses multiple genres from indie rock to metal.

The album begins with the high-energy alt-rock opener "Broken," previously released as a single in February 2017. It is followed by alternative metal thrasher "Leviathan," characterized by high-gain and searing vocals. Next is "Collateral," a track more reminiscent of heavy pop-punk as the sauntering bass line carries through harmonized vocals. "Arson" sparks a very pensive movement in the album as it flows from soft melodies to heavy peaks, progressing seamlessly into the companion instrumental track "Wildfire" which ignites to an explosive end. "Reconcile" features ambient swells and large choruses. This song also debuts a new bass sound (found in the next track as well) as the signal is split, raised an octave, and run through an additional guitar amp creating the illusion of a second guitar filling the soundscape. The following song, "Of Night And Light," is one of the most complex tracks on the album, with a strong progressive structure swept forward by droning percussion that builds wildly throughout the dark-sounding piece. The album closes with the stripped-down indie rock ballad "Hope," departing from the band's heavier roots and leaving the listener with an introspective conclusion.
