The vinyl track sequencing has been rearranged, compared to the CD, to better fit the album sides. The CD also contains an extra track, "Beginning Voyage", not found on the vinyl LP. Not all of the tracks from the live show made it onto the release.
The band's name, Nutty, and the venue where this album was purportedly recorded, The Purple Pit, are references to the 1963 movie "The Nutty Professor", starring Jerry Lewis. The vehicle on the cover is a 1962 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz, a favorite classic car of singer Sonny Moon.
This is Nutty's third album, recorded live. All songs are classic jazz takes on classic rock material, blending both music styles to create new iterations of the rock songs. In the same way the songs are mashed-up, the song titles themselves reflect both the rock songs and the jazz songs collectively used. For example, the first track, “Bohemian Blitz” is a mashup of Sweet’s “Ballroom Blitz” and “Bohemia After Dark” by Oscar Pettiford and Nat and Cannonball Adderley. And so on...
