Your Love
Canadians do it better! Guitarist Sean Kelly (Crash Kelly, Gilby Clarke, Lee Aaron) has teamed up with vocalist / bassist Emm Gryner (David Bowie, Chris Hadfield) under the moniker Trapper. Together, they celebrate the lesser-known hard rock hits of the ‘80s. Their fun-filled, debut five-song EP features three originals and two covers. The truly talented pair tackles “The Warrior” by Scandal and “Your Love” by The Outfield – both with outstanding results; taking the listener back to a time when music was enjoyed on cassette, as opposed to an iPod.
Not to be overshadowed by the music of others, Trapper’s own songs are just as strong. “Technology Killed Our Love” has jukebox classic written all over it; yesteryear’s good times encapsulated in a wonderful, three-minute flashback. “Grand Bender” is the musical equivalent of flipping through the old photo album – nothing but smiles and fond memories. “Lonely Hearts” is a solid, straightforward number that grows and grows. In fact, Def Leppard knows a good thing when they hear it, and invited Trapper to open three Canadian shows for them in May, 2015.
