Sunyata was originally released on Sūnyatā in 1982, and reissued on Sunyata in 1999. The original cassette release also contained the title track "Sunyata (Emptiness)", omitted here. It now appears on the 2-CD Trances / Drones. "Dervish Dreamtime" recorded at Studio M in Palo Alto, with Ron MacLeod. "Oak Spirits" recorded live at Stanford University. Remastered at Soundscape, Mountain View, 1999.

Inner Landscapes: Recorded live on 9 March 1985, in Berkeley, California. Edited and remastered on Inner Landscapes in 1998. First released on Inner Landscapes in 1987, with different edits, on Audion/Auricle UK (AMC029).

"Inner Landscapes documents portions of a concert from 1985. This represents a growth period for me, when I wanted to perform shorter concerts that were completely improvised, while still maintaining the intensity of my all-night sleep concerts. At the time, "shorter" meant three hours with no break. I released two live albums from this era, Live and Inner Landscapes. I think Inner Landscapes holds up better over time. It's one of my few live recordings from this period that captures a bit of the thick atmosphere of the event. While editing it for CD release, I had to choose from over two hours of tape, giving me a chance to restructure the crossfades and remove some weaker material." - Robert Rich, 1999
