Nightports is based on a simple but unbreakable rule of restriction: only sounds produced by the featured musician can be used. Nothing else. These sounds can be transformed, distorted, translated, processed and reprocessed, stretched, cut, ordered and reordered without limitation. An initial run of CDs was produced in a darker, browner version of the artwork, which was rejected and reprinted by the label. Approximately 300 copies were used for promo purposes with a sticker over the barcode.
