Smart, handsome, 20-something Fred Eisele has a lot going for him. But circumstances have led to multiple murders and stolen identities as he navigates his way through life.
Eisele discovered, on early release from prison, the limited job market for convicted felons. With the assistance of his former prison cellmate, he assumes the identity of the deceased Dan Rankin. He prospers in his new identity until his actions force him to again change it. He emerges at the book's end as Toby Smith, a deceased young attorney, who will hang out his shingle as an attorney in a small town in New Hampshire.
