Nina Barbaresi has drawn 36 charming picture puzzles (one to a page) that invite children to spell the names of pictured objects (carrot, game, door); people (cowboy, acrobat, doctor); animals (elephant, horse, snake) and much more.
Accompanying the pictures that surround a search-a-word grid are spaces for spelling the name of each object. (Some letters, including the first, are already filled in.) Youngsters can either find the correctly spelled word among the letters on the grid and then fill in the blanks, or they can fill in the blanks and then check their accuracy by finding the term on the grid. Solutions are included.
