The author of this book, her second, does journaling almost every day. Some author reviews of The Journal of a Woman with Lived Experiences, her first book, are presented. The unhealthy relationship with her ex-husband is discussed. "After thirteen missed birthdays, zero games, missed milestones, consecutive years with no visits, and inconsistent communication" Shawnta Jackson, our heroine, learned the importance of understanding, acceptance, and letting go. Her son grew up without an involved father but has five older siblings with whom he tries to keep in touch, and other relatives are discussed. Her relationship with her former husband is almost nonexistent. Her focus is making sure her son is loved, healthy, and mentally strong. She tries to journal consistently before bed. All of her favorite affirmations are included. A common theme in her journal entries is love and relationships. The author also explains why she is not married. Her energy comes from her positive affirmations, meditation, prayer, and journaling. One chapter is devoted to Letters to My Boyfriend, another discusses confidence and self-validation. Another chapter examines the fact that she has no co-parenting and no outside financial support. However, her consulting company that she formed is finally prospering. "The key is to not give up on yourself and ask for guidance from God and maintain some level of hope and faith." The author is happy and excited about her life.
