On a planet ruled by an evil emperor, Hi'digger commits a crime. In the ensuing confrontation with the authorities, he makes a split-second decision to send his family to Earth, a planet they never knew existed. It's the only way to keep the emperor from using them as leverage.

On their new home planet, Hi'digger's sons must learn to live normal teenage lives to avoid detection both by the emperor's lackeys and by the earthlings. They soon realize, however, that their pedigree can paradoxically make hiding both easier and harder, and that they need their father more than ever before.
