"He wanted greatness. He wanted to be a photographer and a famous musician and a philanthropist and a millionaire ... There was no way he could wake up every day to the same life, the same old routine, because he knew that if he did that, there would come a day where he would fall into a pit and maybe he wouldn't ever crawl out of it."
Tom Carter is twenty and has absolutely no life direction. He makes bad decisions. After a dalliance with his roommate, he is forced to move back home. He thinks his life has hit rock bottom, that is until his brother Danny is injured in a car accident. When Danny comes home from hospital, he's not the same. He's suffering from a delusional disorder and thinks he's dead-a walking, talking corpse no less. Tom wants to help Danny, but he has no idea what to do. His mother Georgia is no help either. Unsurprisingly, they're both out of their depth.
When Danny's behaviour becomes more and more bizarre, Tom wrestles for control, but it only pushes Danny further away. If Tom is ever going to truly help Danny, he must learn to love Danny for who he is now, not who he was. Sometimes, love looks like letting go.
Set in Melbourne, Australia, Somewhere In Between is a quirky, coming of age story about family, love and everything in between.
