Jack Goes to Montessori School allows the reader to follow friendly, spirited Jack through a day in his Montessori primary classroom. There's circle time and Montessori work time (including the famous sandpaper letters, pink tower, and math bead bars), playground fun and lunch time. After a nap, Jack helps with classroom chores and learns to solve problems using the traditional Peace Flower. Throughout Jack's day, the Montessori ideas of respect, independence and collaboration, curiosity, and kindness are reinforced by Jack, his teachers, and his classmates.
Jack's story is a child-friendly introduction to the Montessori learning methods, the structure of a Montessori classroom, and the excitement a Montessori student feels to be in engaged in his own learning. The inviting and thoughtful illustrations -- created by a certified Montessori teacher -- will delight children, parents, and teachers alike!
