Whenever and wherever the church has been most influential, there has been an emphasis upon the Holy Spirit. The ministry of the Holy Spirit has sparked evangelism and revival in every sphere of human endeavor. Expanding congregations have required more space, time and programs. However, a most unusual cycle has been observed. The very Holy Spirit that sparked such revival and influence has been gradually nudged out. In fact, ministry programs, activities and entertainment have become a subtle substitute for the work of the Holy Spirit. This work explores this unusual cycle and offers some remedies.
