The year is 1949. Courts in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Louisville, Kentucky have failed to bring certain accused criminals to justice. These men begin to mysteriously disappear. One common thread amongst all the men is they are either Jewish or black. Swastika graffiti begins showing up in both cities.

Are these disappearances the work of a group of citizen vigilantes, the Ku Klux Klan, or perhaps an organization even more sinister?

Uncovering the truth will be the job of Axel Ryker, a cruel, scar-faced former Gestapo hitman now working for the CIA, and Erika Lehmann and her Shield Maidens, an elite group of female CIA operatives with equally shady pasts.
