BLUE DOORS OF A BOYS & GIRLS CLUB is an exploration of how caring adults can ignite the bright potential of America's youth. After the loss of her beloved mentor-when the doors of her career in government were slamming shut-Jane Sutter found new purpose, renewed faith, and hope as the CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County. Now retired, she catches up with some of her former "Club kids" to see where life has taken them since they walked out those blue doors. Interwoven with their stories is her own journey to-and through-those same doors. She uses the stories of individual Club kids (as well as exceptional volunteers and professional staff) to shine a light on issues of self-esteem, childhood trauma, and generational poverty. Sutter believes it is important to share a sense of hope with young people from all walks of life, not just those in our immediate families, to create stronger, more-compassionate communities.
