4The month of September is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows, and contains the two slightly somber-yet still triumphant-feasts of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and of Our Lady of Sorrows. In this booklet you'll find a script for veneration of the Cross, which can be done at home or at church, plus the Roman Ritual for the Blessing of Crosses to be installed in vineyards, fields, or gardens. You can bring your cross and this prayer to your parish priest and ask him to perform the blessing for you, then install the cross in your yard! For Our Lady of Sorrows, you'll find the Bible readings for our family sour candy activity. Also included are instructions and meditations for the thirteenth century Servite Rosary of Our Lady of Sorrows. It can't be prayed on a usual five decade rosary, but you can follow along with your finger on the included illustrated version, or create one yourself with a string and some knots. You'll also find an old Italian prayer to Baby Mary in honor of the Nativity of Our Lady, and prayers, Bible readings, and speeches for September saints: Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta, St. Matthew, and the Archangels: Saint Michael, Saint Gabriel, and Saint Raphael.
