The life of Sr. Josefa is indeed impressive. Jesus told her later on: There are some Christian souls and even very pious ones that are held back from perfection by some attachment. But when another offers Me her actions united to My infinite merits, she obtains graces for them to free themselves and make a fresh start. Many others live in indifference and even in sin, but when helped int eh same way, recover grace, and will eventually be saved. Others again, and these are very numerous, are obstinate in wrong doing and blinded by error. They would be damned if some faithful soul did not make supplication for them, thus obtaining grace to touch their hearts, but there weakness is so great that they run the risk of relapse into their sinful life; these I take away into the next world without any delay, and that is how I save them." Sr. Josefa then asks Jesus how she could save many souls. He answered: "Unite all you do to My actions, ..." St. Alphonsus writes: "a single bad book will be sufficient to cause the destruction of a monastery." Pope Pius XII wrote in 1947 at the beatification of Blessed Maria Goretti: "There rises to Our lips the cry of the Saviour: 'Woe to the world because of scandals!' (Matthew 18:7). Woe to those who consciously and deliberately spread corruption-in novels, newspapers, magazines, theaters, films, in a world of immodesty!"
