6God made our brain. Sensory time with God-where we read and write about what God wants to teach me-can save us from a life of depression. Learning how God made the brain does not change what the Bible says. It simply opens out eyes to the real meaning of what the Bible teaches. So often we take an opposite or upside down meaning of what his Word tells us because we falsely believe the brain is made backwards from God's actual design. God clearly shows us how walking with him and watching him teaches us how to live freely and lightly. The "unforced rhythms" in Matthew 11 are a great description of how it takes no human mental effort whatsoever to keep our sensory focus on God. We simply make the continual, conscious choice to stay in constant prayer through rhythmic attention to God with one or more of our five senses. When we do, we have embraced the true meaning of getting away with God, keeping company with him, and recovering the life of happiness that God desires for all of us.
