The hour in which we live in this current world demands that the church comes together in unity according to scripture being led by the Holy Spirit. While I was at Promise Keepers I heard a statement quoted by Henry Blackaby that said "If society seems to be getting darker, there's nothing wrong with the darkness, its acting like its nature. The problem is with the light, the light is not shining as it should." Jesus said we are the light of the world and to let your light shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify our Father which is in heaven.
In 1831 Alexus de Tocuqueville visited the United States. He was a French Judge and Political Writer. He became so impressed with what he saw that he went home to Europe and wrote "Democracy In America", one of the most definitive studies on the American culture and constitutional systems that had been published up to that point. In America he noted, the clergy remain politically separated from the government but nevertheless provide a moral stability among the people, which permits the government to prosper. In other words, there is a separation of church and state but not God and a separation between religion (God) and state.
In one of de Tocqueville's most frequently quoted passages, he wrote: "I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers, and it was not there; in her fertile fields and boundless prairies, and it was not there; in her rich minds and her vast commerce, and it was not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good and if America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great."
God will not judge any President for the condition of our nation, but he will judge the church. We can't bridge this Gap fast enough
